I am mum to 2 beautiful children Georgia and Samuel. I started my business back in 2012 when Samuel was just 7 months old. My business Sleepytot NZ started with just one single product, the Sleepytot comforter that holds up to 4 dummies, but soon grew and now we sell dozens of award winning products.  

 

Some fun facts about the Lulla Doll, and how I got involved.

I was actually over in Australia representing another brand at an expo, and my business partner told me that she had sent away for a doll from a crowdfunding phase as her little girl continually woke up during the night and came through to their room for cuddles! Lovely, but they were not getting much sleep at all.

She explained how the doll was being sent to our hotel so I was very intrigued to see what this was all about. I must admit when it arrived I thought it looked and sounded a little strange. I think my words were "Oh Shelly, I don't think that is going to be a big seller!".

I went back to NZ, and got a phone call from her a couple of weeks later. She explained to me that the doll had worked its magic in about 4 days! She could not believe it and said her wee girl was no longer visiting them at night and they were having the best sleeps! 

We decided that we better get onto this amazing doll pretty quickly and to cut a long story short, both signed up to be the NZ and Australian distributors. The next few months were a whirlwind as the Lulla doll love and magic started to spread. We sold out 4 times worldwide and parents couldn't get enough of her. The media was calling from all over the World and we both got interviewed by some large mainstream TV companies. 

Lulla continues to be one of the most loved comforters in the World. She is the only doll with real life heartbeat and breathing. She is the only doll that has had years of scientific research put into her, not to mention thousands of dollars of safety testing.  

She has gone onto help newborns, premature babies, older babies, toddlers, older children, children with ADHD and anxiety problems and even the elderly. She has gone into hospitals and foster homes.  

My own son has hugely benefited from Lulla. Even when he was 7 years old he was still getting comforted by her.
